Work around the world
As a globally recognised PADI Divemaster, you can take your skills anywhere around the world.
Lead certified divers
You’ll be able to lead certified divers on fun dives — the heart and soul of a Divemaster’s job.
Assist instructors
You can assist instructors on courses, helping students learn and progress safely.
Pre-requisites
To begin your PADI Divemaster Training, you'll need the following:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have 40 logged dives
- PADI Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver (or equivalent)
- Medical clearance from a physician within the last 12 months
- Current EFR Primary & Secondary Care training within the past 24 months
What should you expect?
Getting started
The course covers Knowledge Development, Waterskills, and Practical Application. You’ll get early access to eLearning, and on arrival we’ll kick off with an orientation.
Training workshops
You’ll join instructor-led workshops to build core skills—briefings, guiding, navigation, plus learn the local dive sites and more. You will develop confidently from day one.
Hands-on experience
You'll soon assist on real courses with actual students and gain hands-on experience in daily operations while working on other Divemaster tasks at the same time.
Learning from others
You’ll work with a variety of instructors to learn from their experience and teaching styles while they'll support you to keep you on track throughout the internship.
Gain confidence in diving
Throughout the program, you’ll feel your confidence grow with every dive. You’ll become more comfortable, capable, and in control both underwater and on the surface.
Becoming professional
Towards the end, you’ll be well-equipped to run your own dive trip—organising gear, giving briefings, and guiding certified divers under your mentor’s supervision.
I just spent two month doing my divemaster training with Blue Marlin Dive Kuta Lombok, it was a very good experience. The dives are wonderful in some amazing and well preserved sites. The reef is very healthy and colorful. The instructors and divemasters are very experienced and happy to share their knowledge with everybody. You can only improve and learn there. They do their best to make your experience fun and unforgettable.

Couldn't ask for a better diveshop to do my Divemaster. From the first moment everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The questions I had beforehand been answered quick and in good communication. Through the whole course every instructor, the managers and office ladies were supportive and a perfect bunch of people to be with. The fact that I was able to join every instructor for different courses in the pool as well as in the ocean, gave me a perfect idea of different ways to teach and how to support students as well as DSD’S. Everyone was immensely knowledgable and passionate about diving. Safety was always priority number one, followed by having a lot of fun. Special thanks to Timo, who has been my mentor and taught me beyond requirements!
